The making of Junction BTs Interviews

This film was born out of a simple but difficult question: what does it mean to choose the right thing when everything in you wants to do the opposite? We’ve all faced moments where anger, fear, or disappointment made the wrong choice feel easier. This story came from those moments.

At its heart, the film explores how a single decision can ripple outward. How unresolved pain can fracture relationships. How anger, left unchecked, can quietly undo what we love most. Through Milo and Maggie, we wanted to sit with that tension and let it breathe. There’s a moment between them that unfolds almost in silence, grief and regret shared on the floor, and it became the emotional center of the film. It was one of those scenes that lingered on set long after the camera stopped rolling.

We set out to make something that doesn’t end when the credits roll. Something cinematic and beautiful, yes, but also something that stays with you the next day. A film that invites reflection rather than answers. Our hope is that it leaves people with a sense of possibility. That it reminds them it’s never too late to stop, to take responsibility, and to choose differently.

This project was made on a $1,200 budget, powered almost entirely by trust, generosity, and belief. Crew members showed up with a level of care that far exceeded the resources we had. Local venues opened their doors. A town came together. The scale was small, but the commitment was not.

Many of the themes in this film come from real stories we’ve encountered through foster care, addiction recovery, and people rebuilding their lives after a single bad decision. The film is fiction, but the emotional truth is not. We believe we’re all closer to this story than we might like to admit.

Ultimately, we made this film because we believe in the power of choice. Because stories can still shift how we see ourselves and others. And because hope, when offered honestly, is worth the effort.

The heart behind the film
