I’m a documentary filmmaker originally from Los Angeles, now based in Atlanta. My passion is highlighting the work of Gospel-oriented ministries. I’m available for projects across the U.S. as well as international assignments, in roles ranging from full one-man solo production to b-roll capture, interview work, and DP support.
Over the years, my camera has taken me to more than 25 countries, and each trip has reinforced the importance of slowing down, observing first, and approaching every community with respect and humility. I’ve lived in vans, tents, houses, hotels, campers, Airbnbs and everything in between. The result: I’m fully comfortable working in remote, low-infrastructure, or off-the-grid environments without skipping a beat. Bootstrapping is my specialty.
I started in tech, then spent eighteen years as a full-time still photographer, while also running a Gospel-oriented do-good business in Honduras for eight years. In 2022, I transitioned into full-time filmmaking. In the past few years, I’ve completed more than forty short films, including nonprofit impact stories (international and domestic), commercial promos, fundraising videos, testimonial interviews, and DP work for short films.
My goal and passion is creating clear, honest, cinematic films that feel natural, put people at ease, and help viewers better understand organizations, others, and the world around them. When people can see reality plainly, and emotionally, they move toward action. Whether I’m interviewing corporate leaders, pastors, or rural villagers, my aim is to understand, represent well, and bring a clear, steady plan to each project. Many clients mention my calm approach, fast turnaround times, and ability to capture a large amount of meaningful, multipurpose footage in a short time window.
People are my passion, and flexibility is my priority. If you have stories that need to be told well, I’d love to talk about how I can partner with you to help bring them to life in a way that serves the mission first.

Lukas is a consummate professional and has a great eye and heart for good stories. I've seen firsthand how adept he is at staying calm and performing at the top of his game under pressure, and have seen how great he is at building and forging solid relationships. He has an excellent eye for impactful visuals, has deep technical skills, and your organization can't go wrong engaging him to help tell your story and stand out in a crowded marketplace.
Lukas is a delight to work with! I'm always amazed at the final product that has his signature on it. I've had the privilege of being part of several projects through a nonprofit - two of which I was featured in. He has an indescribable ability to draw out the best ideas, soundbites, messaging. Every time I watch the finished project I'm surprised at how good I sound! Knocks it out of the park each time.
Working with Lukas VanDyke was an incredible experience.
